98 Namibians return home after decades in Botswana

98 Namibians who have been living in neighbouring Botswana for decades have returned to Namibia, their country of origin.

They were formally received at the Dobe Border Post in the Otjozondjupa Region by Namibian government officials.

Plans to repatriate 201 Namibian descendents from Botswana to Gam Settlement in the Otjozondjupa Region have hit a snag.

Otjozondjupa Governor James Uerikua confirmed that the initial plan to repatriate the community by the end of this year is stalled due to logistical challenges.

The group will be received at Gam.

The returnees are those whose forefathers fled to Botswana during the German era.
