Nurses in the Zambezi Region gathered at the Katima Mulilo open market in celebration of International Nurses Day under the theme, "Our Nurses, Our Future, and Empowered Nurses Save Lives."

Today is International Nurses Day, and the Ministry of Health and Social Services in the Kavango East Region is commemorating the day with a lineup of activities. 

The day started off with a walk through Rundu’s busiest part of town. 

Namibians joined the rest of the world in celebrating International Nurses Day.

The day is aimed at celebrating the remarkable contributions of nurses worldwide and honouring their tireless dedication and selfless commitment to healthcare.

President Hage Geingob says the important role of nurses, their selfless commitment and sacrifices cannot go unappreciated.

The Director of Primary Health Care Services in the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Naemi Shoopala, has called on all nurses to evolve and sharpen their technology skills as the world becomes increasingly digitised.
