Businesses and residents of Okahandja are unhappy about the frequent power blackouts, saying the constant electricity interruptions hurt their businesses and livelihoods.

The residents say interruptions sometimes last between eight hours and two full days.

Progress to electrify about 100 low-income houses built at Kalkfeld Settlement in Otjozondjupa Region is said to be going smoothly.

The Peri-Urban Electrification Project is valued at N$2 million and is being spearheaded by CENORED.

Former Chief Executive Officer of Erongo Red, Fessor Mbango is the new head of CENORED in the Otjozondjupa Region.

Mbango replaces Robert Kahimise, who was appointed CEO of the Electricity Control Board.
