The U.S. Embassy in Windhoek will no longer issue visas from 1 August. 

Applicants looking to travel to the United States will now have to travel to South Africa, either Johannesburg or Cape Town, for visa services.

The U.S. Embassy has funded the Vendors Initiative for Social & Economic Transformation (VISET) Namibia to upgrade the first phase of the Ongendambala Open Market.

The renovations are set to cost over N$306,000.
