The Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare says that even though the foundation has been laid for early childhood development, there is still room for improvement.

Over 400 students graduated from the University of Namibia's Rundu Campus on Thursday. The graduates received qualifications in various fields, marking the end of their academic journey and the start of new paths in their careers.

The three boys who tragically died from a lightning strike earlier this month were buried on Saturday in Katenture village, Mukwe Constituency, Kavango East Region.

The boys were Frans Thinyemba (14), Matamu Nyambi (4), and Dinyando Kathumbi (5).

A newborn baby boy survived after being abandoned in the bushes at Bunya village in the Kavango West Region on Tuesday. 

According to Kavango West Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Raimbert Muronga, the mother, who is unknown, delivered the baby in the bushes.

Some homeowners in Rundu’s Hilka Park residential area are regretting their property purchases.

They are particularly upset about a manhole that has been overflowing with sewage for the past two years.

Newly appointed Kavango East Governor Julius Hambyuka said the region is ready to turn its obstacles into opportunities. 

Despite the many challenges still facing the region, Hambyuka is convinced that only service delivery will restore the confidence and trust of the local inhabitants.
