Residents of Gcaruha Village in Kavango West finally have access to a clinic after being without a fully functional health facility for close to 11 years.

The Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, has informed the National Assembly that the tender for procuring essential medicines submitted last year remains unresolved due to ongoing legal challenges. 

At the opening ceremony of the African Health Workforce Investment Forum on Monday, Minister of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, noted that by the end of 2023, 98.5% of babies born to HIV-positive mothers in Namibia were HIV-free. 

Kavango East's Chief Dentist, Dr. Elizabeth Hausiku-Elago, says the region is benefiting from the various developments made in the dentistry field.

Dr. Hausiku-Elago was speaking during Oral Health Awareness week at Rundu.

Occupational therapy is a critical part of Namibia's rehabilitation landscape.
