President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says while Namibia has secured its political freedom and sovereignty, the country's focus must now shift to economic emancipation. 

As Namibia commemorates Heroes Day on 26 August, the country remembers those who sacrificed for its freedom. 

Among them are ordinary Namibians whose contributions to the liberation struggle often remain untold.

The Omaruru Museum carries the stories of many unsung heroes who played a vital role in connecting and facilitating communication during challenging times.

The 23-year-old Jose Loch, who is the caretaker and curator of the Omaruru Museum, tells it all.
