NTLA calls for inclusion on Nama & Ovaherero genocide reparations negotiations

The Nama Traditional Leaders Association (NTLA) has reiterated calls for its inclusion in the Nama and Ovaherero Genocide Reparations talks between the governments of Namibia and Germany.

Its chairperson, Johannes Isaack, repeated this demand at the annual Genocide Memorial Day at Luderitz over the weekend. 

The annual genocide commemoration themed 'Let the Blood of Our Ancestors Fuel Our Resolve for Restorative Justice' commenced with a genocide memorial walk. 

NTLA describes symposium as a success

The Nama Traditional Leaders Association (NTLA) says the symposium attended by Nama communities across the Hardap and ||Kharas regions was a success. 

The three-day symposium themed 'Indigenous Peoples Reflections on Green Hydrogen in Southern Namibia'  held at Luderitz ended on Thursday. 

NTLA Technical Adviser Mabos Ortman says the symposium's objectives of educating and reflecting on the green hydrogen development at Luderitz were achieved. 

Inclusion of Nama people in green hydrogen development stressed

The Nama Traditional Leaders Association Chairperson, Johannes Isaack, has stressed the need for the inclusion of the Nama people in green hydrogen development at Luderitz. 

He shared his sentiments at the workshop organised by the association in collaboration with the Society for Threatened Peoples. 

The workshop, themed' Indigenous Reflections on Green Hydrogen Production in Southern Namibia', was attended by representatives of traditional authorities in the south. 

OTA & NTLA call on President Geingob to take Germany to ICJ

The OvaHerero Traditional Authority and the Nama Traditional Leaders Association are calling on President Hage Geingob to support them in taking Germany to the International Court of Justice for the genocide committed against their people.

The groups have also condemned the German government's defence of Israel's attack on Gaza, noting that Germany's actions are motivated by a guilty conscience as it tries to make amends for the Holocaust.
