The Elindi brothers have taken their fight for freedom to the Windhoek High Court, arguing that the magistrate who denied them bail treated their evidence unfairly and branded them liars without justification.

The High Court has ordered the ||Kharas Regional Council to promote its employee, Barendt Both, to the position of Deputy Director of Administration.

The order follows the council's overturning of Both's appointment against an interview panel as well as the Public Service Commission's recommendation.

The High Court has undertaken a number of review judgements in May, setting aside convictions and sentences.

The reviews also led to reduced sentences and fines imposed by lower courts, an indication that Namibia's justice system is able to self-correct.
