Vice President Lucia Witbooi has called on marginalised communities in Omaheke Region to develop a strong sense of ownership over state-sponsored community projects.

Stampriet residents have expressed frustration with having to rent erven from the village council, calling for a transition to ownership.

They say owning the land would provide them with greater security and stability.

Close to 2,000 residents at Karibib have become plot owners at the Usab Informal Settlement after the town council handed over their land ownership certificates.
