Two hippos that reportedly migrated from Botswana's Okavango Delta to the Nyae Nyae Conservancy in Tsumkwe in 2017 have made a natural pond their home.

Families living along Kenya's Lake Baringo say rising waters are driving crocodiles and hippos closer to their homes, turning everyday trips for water and food into potentially deadly encounters.

More than 130 hippos at Munambeza Pond near Lake Lyambezi in the Zambezi Region are stranded in the muddy water owing to the persistent drought.

Munambeza is the third of the ponds where hippos are stranded along the Chobe River bordering with Botswana.
