Namibia is taking the necessary steps to ensure that every child counts from birth.

The Education Deputy Director in Omaheke, Eliakim Kavari, has reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring equal access to education, emphasising that no child should be denied learning opportunities due to financial constraints. 

The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Lucia Iipumbu, has stressed the importance of birth registration, calling it more than just a right—it is recognition of a child’s identity and existence.

Learners of Shuumbwa Combined School in the Oshikoto Region urged their fellow learners to surround themselves with positive people.

They made the remarks at the commemoration of the Day of the Namibian Child.
