Acting Chief of News and Programming at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), Sackie Shikufa, said Namibia's high media freedom ranking should not lead to complacency.

"The 8th Administration will work to ensure the safeguarding of press freedom in Namibia. The rights of media practitioners will always be protected in the execution of their duties."

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN), Dr Elsie Nghikembua, has reaffirmed the Commission's commitment to maintaining openness and transparency with the media during the election period.

This approach aims to prevent misinformation and the spread of fake news.
