The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport Infrastructure and Housing has called for collective responsibility in reducing the rising accidents on the country's roads.

The committee chairperson, MP George !Garab, made the call during a public hearing that deliberated the motion on road accidents. 

The festive season is here, and the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA) called on road users to avert the scourge on roads by acting responsibly.

From the start of the year until the 26th of November 2025, the Fund recorded 2,960 road crashes compared to 2,822 recorded in the same period last year.

To reduce and ultimately prevent road fatalities during the festive season, the National Road Safety Council has launched the 2024-2025 Road Safety Campaign in Tsumeb.

Deputy Minister of Works and Transport, Veikko Nekundi, emphasized that most road accidents are a result of user behavior.
