High inflation on fruits and vegetables is causing losses for local vendors selling on the streets of Windhoek. 

Recent statistics published on the Namibia Consumer Price Index show the annual inflation rate at 3.2%.

A fresh produce vendor selling alongside the road in Omindamba village in the Outapi constituency of the Omusati Region, Sophia Shapwako, says business has been slow in 2024 and is no longer fulfilling her desire for personal growth.
