Renowned economist Martin Mwinga has urged Namibians to take advantage of incentives offered by the government and the private sector to resolve the housing crisis.

Twenty-one low-income residents of Katjinakatji in the Kavango West Region are now homeowners after benefiting from the Shack Dwellers Federation scheme.

About 58 homeowners' dreams have become a reality after they officially received their houses under the Mass Housing Development Programme at Otjomuise Extension 10 in Windhoek. 

Kunene Governor Marius Sheya has revived the Build Together Housing programme in Outjo to help address the backlog of over 4,000 residents on the waiting list.

Currently, the most affected and needy homeowners are located in the town's ever-expanding informal settlements.
