To combat open defecation and raise awareness about sanitation and hygiene, the Otjozondjupa Regional Council handed over 109 pit latrine toilets in the Tsumkwe Constituency.
The Head of the Otjiwarongo District Hospital, Shiwana Amesho, says the hospital needs to be upgraded to cater for the growing population and increasing number of accidents on the B1 road.
Dr. Amesho made these remarks during the visit of the Otjiwarongo Constituency Councillor to the health facilities.
The Minister of Health and Social Services has achieved a treatment success rate of 88 percent for all forms of TB.
However, 497 cases of TB and 42 deaths were recorded during the 2024/25 period.
Namibia is only two percent short of the World Health Organization's target of 90 percent.
