The Christian community in Namibia, more particularly those of Catholic faith, is mourning the death of Pope Francis. 

The head of the Catholic Church was the first non-European pope and served the Catholic community since 2013.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has described the death of Pope Francis as a loss to humanity, remembering him as an extraordinary leader of faith who led with compassion, courage, and integrity.

The head of the Catholic Church died on Easter Monday at the age of 88.
