The Association of Dependents of Veterans of Namibia (ADVN) held a demonstration in Windhoek demanding an amendment to the Veterans Act to accommodate benefits for children who were born in exile as well as dependents of war veterans.
 

Ministry outlines plans to reduce education sector unemployment

The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture has outlined strategic initiatives to curb the high unemployment rate in the education sector.

This is in response to the acknowledgement of a petition submitted to the Ministry by unemployed graduate teachers last month.

Over 100 Nampharm employees protest loss of benefits

More than a hundred Nampharm employees led by the Namibian Revolutionary Transport and Manufacturing Union held a demonstration over the recent removal of employee benefits. 

The demonstrators said the removal of medical aid and the 14th cheque without staff consultation was inconsiderate and burdensome.

Ministry of Education mourns teacher suicides

The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture (MEIYSAC) has expressed shock over the suicide deaths of three teachers from the Enyana Combined School, Eenhana Secondary School, and Ohehonge Combined School in the Ohangwena region.

EU, NPC donate trucks to boost livestock sector

Toolkit launched to boost connectivity in rural areas

The Edu-Conservation Initiative has launched its toolkit, aimed at boosting education and connectivity in rural areas.

Director Julie Cleverdon said at the launch in the capital that the toolkits are meant to create secure learning environments while promoting sustainable educational practices.
