The Chief Electoral and Referenda Officer of the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN), Peter Shaama, outlined the components of the 2025 Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections calendar on Wednesday.

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has deployed 18 teams, comprising 94 election officials, in preparation for the Kamanjab Constituency by-election.

The by-election in Kamanjab was prompted by the resignation of former UDF councillor Nico Somaeb following his election to the National Assembly.

As the country edges closer to another round of national voting, the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) is conducting an intensive 11-day training session for key electoral staff at Otjiwarongo.
