While celebrating Africa Day in Windhoek, Vice President Lucia Witbooi reminded Africa not to forget the ongoing conflicts on the continent.

The day featured stalls with signature dishes as well as cultural performances by various groups.

Students at the Sauyemwa Centre for the Visually Impaired in Rundu, Kavango East, say they feel honoured to be remembered on Africa Day.

This comes after the Riverdale Private Academy paid the visually impaired students a visit to appreciate them.

Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema has paid tribute to the visionary leaders who lit the torch of the liberation struggle across the African continent.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says Africa Day reminds citizens of the continent’s heroes and heroines, such as Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyerere, Sam Nujoma, and many others who founded the Organisation of African Unity in 1963, which later transformed into the African Union.
