A new era has begun for Miss Namibia. The organisation has officially transitioned into a new phase of leadership, welcoming Beaulah Boois-Beukes as its new National Director.

Family, friends and the entire Namibian music community are preparing to lay to rest crooner and legend Richard Meyer, who died in Windhoek last week at the age of 72.

Born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on 14 August 1954, Richard Meyer was part of a family of eight siblings.

The Director General of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), Menesia Muinjo, has reaffirmed the broadcaster's commitment to fulfilling its mandate of informing, educating and entertaining the nation, as it has been doing since 1991. 

The Miss Namibia Organisation has announced the top ten finalists for both Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia, revealed over the weekend.

The contestants were selected during the preliminary events. 

NBC Director General Menesia Muinjo hosted Miss Namibia 2015, Steffi Van Wyk-Brink, her husband, South African actor Clint Brink, and Botswana beauty queen Lebopo Bulayani.

This evening marks the return of the Namibian Theatre and Film Awards ceremony after a six-year hiatus.

The awards celebrate Namibia's creative talent and growth in the arts sector. 

The long break has resulted in a high number of entries, particularly in the dance and theatre categories. 

Strictly Local Namibia has created a platform for artists aimed at restoring live performance culture and building a sustainable ecosystem for the creative industry.

The Namibia Annual Music Awards are making a comeback after a four-year break. 

Organisers have begun stakeholder engagements to reimagine the awards, calling on musicians, promoters and industry players to help shape its future.

Creatives from Gobabis came out in large numbers to engage with the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation management team ahead of the Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia pageants.
 

The Omaheke Region will host this year's Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia pageants, bringing one of the country's biggest national events to the region. 

The prestigious events will be held on 31 July and 1 August, respectively.
