The Swapo Party has strengthened its political hold in the Zambezi Region by retaining three constituencies it lost in the last Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says Namibians have once again demonstrated their commitment to democracy, praising the peaceful and orderly conduct of the Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections.

The Chairperson of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation's Board, Lazarus Jacobs, says the public broadcaster remains committed to providing the nation with verified and trustworthy election updates as events unfold.

The Swapo Party candidate for the upcoming Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections in Kongola Constituency has vowed to empower the youth and develop natural resources into fuel for economic development.

Mutelo was introduced to voters at Kongola in the Zambezi Region on Sunday.
