The Namibian Police Force will deploy 20 officers to identified road accident hotspots and 30 vehicles nationwide as part of its preparations for the 2026/2027 festive season road safety campaign.

Traffic fines amounting to over N$200,000 have been collected during Operation ZAKAWE in the Kavango East, Kavango West, and Zambezi regions between 03 and 12 August.

Road safety requires coordinated and collective efforts from all stakeholders.

Only through collective responsibility, cooperation and commitment can traffic crashes be reduced and create safer roads for all.

The Rundu Town Council has launched its newly established traffic law enforcement unit.

 Kavango East Regional Council Chairperson Damian Maghambayi applauded the council for its achievement in establishing the unit for traffic law enforcement.
