The Roads Authority's Namibia Traffic Information System (NaTIS) has made further progress in making government services more accessible to communities in the Omaheke Region.

NaTIS officially launched a learner's licence testing facility in Otjinene. 

Otjinene Councillor Eben-Ezer Kauapirura says the shortage of emergency vehicles in the region is impacting patients negatively, calling for urgent intervention.

Kauapirura said it has become difficult for one ambulance to serve the entire region.

In a continued effort to help address malnutrition in the Omaheke Region, employees of the Namibia Revenue Agency known as the "NamRA Stars" joined hands to support vulnerable children in the region.

A Grade two learner, nine-year-old Motjaritje Tjambiru died in a fire that engulfed her family's shack in Kanaan A, Gobabis. The incident has left the family in shock and mourning.

A total of 670 cadets graduated from the Police Basic Training Course from Pius Kaundu Police Training Centre in the Omaheke Region.

The graduation ceremony, which was addressed by Vice President Lucia Witbooi, was themed "Courage under Pressure. Honour in Service."
