The leadership of the Omaheke Region has welcomed new recycling initiatives, hailing them as a vital opportunity to generate local livelihoods and drive economic inclusion.

The African Green Industries Summit, scheduled for September in Swakopmund, was officially launched in Windhoek.

The summit expects to gather over 600 delegates, 50 speakers, and 100 youth participants.

Namibia is positioning itself as a key player in the global green energy transition, with growing investments in green hydrogen and biomass production. Projects such as the Daures Green Hydrogen Village are already laying the foundation for a new energy future. 

Namibia and Finland are strengthening cooperation on sustainable development through a Circular Economy Dialogue aimed at turning policy commitments into practical solutions for economic transformation.
