The Minister of Justice and Labour Relations, Wise Immanuel, has pointed out that the limited availability for wedding bookings at magistrates' courts is primarily due to the significant workload faced by magistrates.

A new electronic payment system will see court users making payments at Magistrates' Courts through point-of-sale facilities, reducing the judiciary's reliance on cash transactions.

For the 2026-27 financial year, the Ministry of Justice will construct two magistrates' courts in Nkurenkuru and Katima Mulilo.

For this development expenditure, N$15 million has been set aside.
