Parliament is strengthening its role in holding the government accountable, as parliamentary leaders renewed calls for lawmakers to put the interests of citizens ahead of politics.

Parliament is set to host the memorial service of the late member of parliament and former Otjozondjupa Regional Governor, James Uerikua, with proceedings expected to begin shortly at Parliament Gardens in Windhoek.
