A group of trade unions and employers' representatives have rejected Justice and Labour Relations Minister Wise Immanuel's stance on the composition of the Labour Advisory Council.
 
They argued that they should be accorded the privilege of nominating representatives to the council themselves.

The Minister of Justice and Labour Relations, Wise Immanuel, emphasised that the government cannot compel private companies to employ workers permanently but can enforce the minimum wage order.

The Minister of Justice and Labour Relations says expanding social protection to workers in the informal economy has emerged as a key government priority.

He said this on a message delivered on his behalf at an International Social Security Forum on Monday.
