The Junior National Council MPs have recommended that schools establish early warning and intervention systems to identify learners at risk of dropping out and provide appropriate academic and psychosocial support.

The ||Kharas Education Directorate Director, Nicolas Eiman, has revealed that, out of an average of 2,800 Grade 1 learners enrolled annually in the region, about 800 could not be accounted for by the time they reached Grade 7.

This is equivalent to an estimated 28% drop-out rate.
