Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema has launched the African Union's Champion's Report on Ending Child Marriage and the Spotlight Initiative Africa Regional Programme.

A 37-year-old Namibian soldier has been sentenced to five years' imprisonment in Zambia after being caught selling elephant tusks to undercover officers in Mwandi.

Zambia is expected to soon lift a night travel ban imposed on trucks and public service vehicles on the country's roads.

The ban was originally introduced in November 2016, in effect between 21H00 and 17H00, to reduce high rates of traffic accidents.

An American tourist, Christopher Gibbs, has died after plunging 100 metres from the Knife Edge Bridge at the Victoria Falls heritage site.

Gibbs, who arrived in Zimbabwe on 26 December, crossed into Zambia on Monday before allegedly committing suicide the following day.
