Otjimbingwe community address socio-economic stagnation in settlement

The community members of Otjimbingwe and surrounding farms hosted a meeting to address serious issues hampering socio-economic development at the settlement.

Otjimbingwe is a settlement in the Erongo Region of central Namibia, with approximately 8,000 inhabitants.

Among the issues that were discussed were the upgrading of the road between Karibibb and Otjimbingwe, the allocation of residential plots at the settlement, a shortage of water and electricity supply, high youth unemployment, and the lack of an ambulance.

Geingob appeals that Green Hydrogen project be given a chance to take off

President Hage Geingob has appealed that the Green Hydrogen project be given a chance to take off and change the socio-economic conditions of the two southern regions and the country at large.

The political leadership of the Hardap and ||Kharas Regions also witnessed the signing of the Feasibility and Implementation Agreement.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Ipumbu Shiimi clarified that the funding of the Green Hydrogen project is private sector-driven and not from the government coffers.

Current generation urged to embark on socio-economic transformation

President Hage Geingob says it is the duty of the current generation to embark on the struggle for socio-economic transformation.

Dr Geingob said this socio-economic transformation would require the same bravery and zeal that the heroes and heroines had during the struggle for political independence.

Dr Geingob said this when he addressed Zambia's 58th Independence Day commemorations in the capital, Lusaka, on Monday.
