The Minister of Finance and Public Enterprise, Iipumbu Shiimi, says the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is a high-ambition trade agreement with a comprehensive scope that includes critical areas such as digital trade and investment protection.

AU member states are expected to decide on bold policies and investment actions to accelerate the continent's industrialisation drive.

The discussions will take place during the African Union Summit on Industrialisation and Economic Diversification, to be held in Niger next month.
