The partnership between Standard Bank Namibia's Buy a Brick initiative and the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development (MURD) has delivered 73 houses at Onandjaba in the Omusati Region.

The houses are for low-income families at the newly proclaimed Onandjaba Village Council.

Forty Micro-, Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) are receiving a four-month mentorship and training programme under the guardianship of Standard Bank Namibia and Namibia Investment and Financial Academy.
 

Standard Bank Namibia, through its corporate social responsibility programme, has reaffirmed its commitment to gradually move low-income earners from shacks to modern houses.

The bank pledged N$2,6 million towards the Shack Dwellers Federation of Namibia project for this year.

The Project Never Walk Alone has received a N$400,000 donation from Standard Bank Namibia.

The donation will provide shoes for 1,275 children in the Kunene Region.

In 2023, the project intends to hand over 10,000 pairs of shoes.
