Namibia needs to construct about 30 000 housing units annually in the next eight years, to deal with the current housing backlog. The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development, together with stakeholders are now revising the National Housing Policy in an attempt to speed up urban land delivery and increase access to adequate housing. The two-day consultative workshop underway in Windhoek will also include the development of the National Strategy for Informal Settlement Upgrading.
