ACC's Paulus Noa says actions taken by Parliament to recover over N$1,2 million are commendable

Anti-Corruption Commission boss Paulus Noa says the actions taken by Parliament to recover over N$1,2 million are commendable. Noa informed nbc News that no case has been registered with the corruption watchdog, but was quick to point out that the accounting officers at the August House should have registered the matter if they suspected corruption, as alleged. Paulus Noa further stated that the magnitude of the allegations made, has gotten the attention of the ACC and that it will look into the matter. Noa also says that his office will draft a letter to the secretary of the National Council Lydia Kandetu asking for a detailed explanation regarding the allegations. He says he can however not rule out the possibility that Kandetu was under the belief that reporting the matter as a criminal one to the police and at the same time recovering the stolen money was sufficient. He also informed nbc News that the ACC will demand evidence that the money was indeed recovered. The ACC will pursue the matter if it finds that it involves elements of corruption.
