Agriculture, Water and Land Reform Minister Calle Schlettwein has urged farmers in northern Namibia to move away from the old way of farming of keeping livestock for family events only. Schlettwein said farmers need to attach economic value to their farming, by selling at least their surplus to generate revenue to sustain themselves and their families. The Agriculture Minister said this when he paid a visit to the Eenhana abattoir in the Ohangwena Region over the weekend.
