Air Namibia will fly to Frankfurt and London this evening to repatriate more than 100 Namibians, who are stranded after airlines around the world cancelled their flights to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. Air Namibia has secured a fully booked flight of 244 foreign passengers stranded in Namibia from countries including France, Italy, Germany and the United States of America. Air Namibia manager of sales Ebson Ngondo says, more than 100 Namibians have confirmed their bookings in both Frankfurt and London willing to return back home. Ngondo said the return flight is expected to arrive in Namibia on Wednesday. The airline has so far repatriated Namibians on 10 occasions from countries such as Angola, Ethiopia, and Tanzania, He also emphasised that strict safety measures would be put in place to ensure the safety of all passengers, including the compulsory wearing of masks In addition, Ngondo says all returning citizens will be required to undergo mandatory quarantine of 14 days as stipulated in the state of emergency regulations.
