ANC recalls Zuma

South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) on Tuesday announced it had recalled President Jacob Zuma as the country president. ANC secretary general Ace Magashule said, "we went with deputy secretary general, Jessie Duarte, today to meet with the President and we communicated the decision of the national executive committee. “Obviously we give him time and space to respond. We haven't given him [Zuma] any deadline to respond." Zuma has not responded. Magashule described the discussion with Zuma as "constructive". According to him, Zuma wanted to stay on as country president for a period of three to six months.
