Sinvula Mudabeti a family member of four people killed by the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) indicated that his relatives were unarmed fishermen who did not illegally enter Botswana, as reported. Mudabeti further expressed his disappointment with the Inspector-General of the Namibian Police, saying his family was never approached to provide their side of the story, to counter the narrative provided by authorities in Botswana. The family wants an independent forensic expert to observe the autopsy of the victims, saying they have evidence that all suspects were shot in the head at close range or from an aircraft. They also suspect that authorities in Botswana are playing delaying tactics to return the bodies of the victims to conceal the evidence.
