The City of Windhoek has expressed great concern over a recent rise in incidents of veld fire in the city and its surrounding areas. Not only do these present a danger to the lives of residents, the municipality says, but also to properties and the environment. Residents are thus urged to help curb veld fires by being extra cautious when handling fire, especially during this dry and windy season.
