The City of Windhoek is expected to construct eight houses worth N$6,8 million through its Affordable Housing programme. This was revealed by Windhoek Mayor Sade Shereen Gawanas at the launch of the programme and the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of eight pilot houses in Khomasdal. The houses will be built at the corner of Visarend and Florence Nightingale streets in the Khomasdal Constituency. Gawa!nas says the Affordable Housing Programme aims to provide low and low to middle-income earners of Windhoek with affordable houses, with first-time buyers who are on the City's housing list first to be considered. The price range of the two and three-bedroom houses. which are expected to be completed within six weeks, are between N$850 000 for the smallest erf of 312 square meters to N$1,2 million for a house constructed on a 1022 square meter erf.
