Dundee Precious Metals (DPM) has delivered record gold production and exceeded production targets at the Tsumeb smelter. The Canadian based, international gold mining company processed approximately 231 900 tonnes of complex concentrate last year. President and Chief Executive Officer David Rae says on the company's website that approximately 52 500 tonnes of complex concentrate were processed, during the fourth quarter. He says that this reflects a four-day shutdown. This follows the previously announced death of an employee two-months ago, and maintenance activities in the converter area of the facility. For the year, annual guidance was achieved despite the operation being impacted by a 30-day reduction in through-put due to COVID-19 during the second quarter. To date, DPM has not experienced any material disruptions to its operations as a result of the pandemic. Rae says the company continues to effectively manage the pandemic and prioritise the health and safety of its workforce.
