The 7th Elective Congress of the Swapo party's Elders Council opened in Windhoek with a call for unity among cadres. President Hage Geingob, joined by his predecessors, has urged delegates at the congress to convey the message of "Unity of purpose". Dr Geingob also urged those at the opening to fight for equality, and denounce tribalism and corruption. Geingob also said those who wish for the party's demise will have to wait for a long time.
