Family protest against authorities for refusal to leave Erongo

A bereaved family showed up at the weekly COVID-19 briefing by Erongo Regional Governor Neville Andre to protest against what they call an injustice, when they were refused by the authorities to leave Erongo Region to bury their mother in Otjiwarongo. A group of seven, including children, protested by disrupting the governor a few seconds into his address, demanding to be allowed to leave the region with immediate effect, as they have already wasted some days exhausting all possible avenues to no avail. Responding to the protestors, Governor Andre apologised for the delay in giving them permission to leave the region, and offered them an audience immediately after the briefing. The meeting was to be attended by, among others, and health officials and senior officials from the police force.
