Five children drown over Easter weekend

Five children, three of whom drowned, died due to unnatural causes over the Easter long weekend. In the Omusati Region, a three-year-old girl drowned in a water pond at the Okathitu-kakyokotsandi Village in Tsandi Constituency. At the Otapatapa Village, 7-year-old Ndemutila Natalia Indenga drowned while she was swimming in a water canal with other children. In the Ohangwena Region at Onehova Village, Omundaungilo Constituency, 16-year-old Alfeus Nghifikwa drowned in an earth dam while swimming with friends. In the Kavango East Region’s Mupapama Village, the 13-year-old Meshing Anselm Manga died after he was attacked by a crocodile while taking a bath in the river. In Windhoek’s Wanaheda residential area, 7-year-old Warren Patrice Kenzo Gibe died from injuries he sustained when a wall collapsed while he was playing next to it.
