Founding President leaves for Egypt to receive award

Founding President, Sam Nujoma left for Egypt earlier this afternoon. Nujoma's visit to Egypt is on invitation of the Boutros Boutros Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge. He is to receive the foundation's annual award for Outstanding Achievements in the field of Diplomacy for Peaceful Conflict Resolution. The Founding President left on an Ethiopian Airlines flight, which is expected to arrive in Cairo early tomorrow morning. He will also be visiting various historical sites in Cairo before attending the award ceremony on Saturday evening. Namibia's Ambassador to Egypt, Jafet Isaak will also be hosting a dinner for the visiting delegation before the Founding President returns to Windhoek on Monday.
