The Government says the Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC) having offered shares to the public does not mean the entity will be privatised as perceived by some sections of society. Responding to questions by Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters MP, Longinus Ipumbu in the National Assembly, Public Enterprise Minister Leon Jooste says the decision to list a public enterprise is always based on commercial considerations that are in the interest of the public. Jooste says government will remain a significant shareholder in MTC.
