Governor Frederick on locust outbreak

||Kharas Governor Aletha Frederick today convened a meeting with stakeholders to discuss ways to intensify controlling the invasion of brown locusts in the region. Briefing nbc News Frederick said an awareness campaign cautioning motorists to reduce their speed when driving through areas infested with the brown locust is expected to launch Wednesday. In addition, police traffic officers’ visibility will also be increased on roads, especially on highways, in the affected areas. In just less than a week, a second minibus overturned about 30 kilometers north of Keetmanshoop on the B1 highway. Crushed locust swarms making the road surface slippery were blamed for the said road accidents. The governor further highlighted that inadequate manpower to fight the locust invasion remains a challenge. She says volunteers are welcome to help in the fight to control the locust invasion.
