President Hage Geingob has expressed his gratitude to the Namibian People, following a successfully hosted Heroes Day commemoration. He particularly thanked the organisers of the official commemoration event at Mariental, noting the difficult circumstances under which they managed to execute a fitting tribute to the heroes and heroines of Namibia's struggle for independence. He also thanked the residents of the Hardap Region for showing up in numbers and valuing the state's efforts at the inclusive commemoration of the day. The Heroes Day celebration, coupled with the just-started Ongwediva Trade Fair Geingob said, signals a return to normalcy following almost three years of dealing with COVID-19 and brought Namibians closer to one another as a winning nation. The president also thanked the media and singled out the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation for its inclusive live broadcasting of the event.
